Six years after the Void broke against the walls of Silvermoon City, Quel'Thalas is still sealing the last rifts. Farstrider Faeryn Larethian, home on leave after six years in the Twilight Highlands, is handed an order to bring in Caelthir the Unbidden, a demon hunter who took the Void into himself to fight it and then deserted when he felt himself slipping. She tracks him west along the haunted shores of the Ghostlands and north into the gold hills of Eversong, reading him from what he leaves behind, until she's no longer sure the man on the trail is the one the order describes.
